Transport is the largest emitter of greenhouse gases in Scotland, with car journeys accounting for 38% of transport emissions. Moving journeys from the car to buses and coaches could play a significant role in delivering decarbonisation in Scotland. A previous report by WPI Economics found that shifting more journeys to bus and coach in Scotland could save up to 1542million KGs of CO2 by 2050. What can policymakers do to encourage and enable this shift?
At this event, a panel of experts came together to discuss the new report and its recommended policy packages. This project is kindly sponsored by the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT).
