Cost-of-living crisis: How does the Governmentβs response compare to our proposal?
A few weeks back, our chief economist Aveek Bhattacharya suggested that the Government should respond to rising household costs β in particular higher energy prices β with a βcost-of living-bonusβ. The scheme the Treasury decided to go with is decidedly different.
