Work with us
As a charity, we rely on the goodwill and support of organisations and individuals who are interested in policy so we can keep researching interesting and important issues, running informative and topical events, and providing ideas and expertise that improve policymaking and the public debate.
The SMF retains full editorial control over all of its output, and we pride ourselves on the transparency of our funding. Find out more about our funding here.
Here are some of the ways you can work with us:
Support a research project
Our research team have extensive experience and knowledge in a range of areas including, work, skills and education; energy, environment and transport; economic policy; housing; migration policy; justice reform and public health policy.
All our researchers have experience in both quantitative and qualitative methods, including data collection and analysis, surveys, literature reviews, and interviews. We know how to integrate these into effective publications and engaging news stories.
To find out more about commissioning a research project, contact our Deputy Research Director, Jamie Gollings.
Partner on policy events
We run expert roundtables, panel debates, and speeches throughout the year to help drive forward policy agendas and discuss issues that the political debate often neglects. Explore our past events here.
